Question #1:
Teenager needs help for car insurance!!?
I turn 16 in a few months and I was wondering if there were any websites that I could just punch in what type of car I was planning on getting and they would give me insurance quotes. All the sites i've been on make me sign up for things, all I want is a free quote that tells me how much my insurance would be. Any website suggestions would be great.Question #2:
Free insurance quotes for teenagers?
does anyone know of a insurance company which gives cheap quotes for first time car insurance buyersQuestion #3:
Thought I found a solution to high car insurance... Not so sure now?
He-yo.... I'm guessing any young newly qualified driver out there would of already found out is the shear cost of getting yer car insured. I know as I'm 18, "male" which supposedly makes me high risk so the cheapest insurance I got was £3820 and that's only for third party, and the car is only a 1.2 litre Renault Clio.My instructor mentioned that he heard a scheme that's being done for young new drivers, companies called:
Young Banana &
Young Marmalade
The idea is that these companies have merged together with insurance companies to fill a gap in the market which is us young drivers.
The scheme is that you buy a new car or a nearly new car with these guys and the car will come with affordable insurance. I had a look at it and decided to get a quote just out of interest with a new car.
So I selected the nearly new car category and went with the new shaped Renault Clio. You can select to buy the car straight away or get it financed over a period of months with 60 being the longest, I got £150 monthly payment as the average which is just payment for the car. The first years insurance came as £1635, (got all excited and jumping, over - reacting) provided that your parents have a good record they are added to the policy for free.
I was thinking that it was too good to be true, new car, affordable insurance. But then could be too good of a deal to go without some hidden catches.
I dunno what makes me suspicious about these sites but the more I investigate into it the more I feel that this could become quite expensive.
Here are the websites in question:
Young Banana - Click Here
Young Marmalade - Click Here
When I investigated Young Marmalade in more depth it was the insurance that got to me cause my first initial thought was that you pay for the insurance continually with them as long as you own the car, but it looks more like a 12 month deal that has to be renewed each time....
The car as well comes out cheaper then its usual retail price (if new) or usual price for its mileage (if nearly new) so I started to think that theres a one off payment at the end of the contract to own the car..
What do you guys think of this?
Before you guys answer the insurance quote I got of over £3000 was with my parents added into the policy as main drivers and me as a named driver...!
Question #4:
How much would car insurance be for a 1999 eclipse gs?
what would i be paying if i got a normal full coverage on this eclipse? and please no go to this link and get a free quote just give me an estimate, thanksQuestion #5:
Benefits of Survivors?
How accurate is this???!!!Matt's family isn't middle-income, they're mid-low income. Enlisted soldiers don't make all that much money. Matt's father would have received base pay, which covers basic expenses (food, electric bills, car, etc), housing (enough to cover mortgage) and dependent allowance for his son. He also gets combat pay, but dad probably used that money for what he needed in Iraq. Yes, the military provides the basics, but if you want to buy a candy bar or upgrade the crap the military has been providing to soldiers, you have to pay for it yourself.
The military also has a limit to the cost of a funeral. If you choose to be cremated or buried in a military cemetery with the simple casket provided, it's free. Otherwise they provide a headstone, flag and funeral details and pay about $2,000 for a simple burial - anything more elaborate has to be paid for by the family
Meanwhile, "grandma" is probably living on Medicare and Social Security, and couldn't begin to pay her own expenses. Then mom comes back and they have expenses to pay for three. Matt isn't making much delivering pizza!
Frankly, Matt's dad's death was their ticket to stability and a chance to climb out of, not poverty, but low mediocrity. Matt gets survivor benefits (medical, PX privileges and dependent pay for life) and grandma got his life insurance, which will probably last past her death, then go to Matt.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you have proof? Quote the VA, if you have this information?!
SBP & Life Insurance - If the decedent listed Matt & Grandma as beneficiaries!
(medical, PX privileges and dependent pay for life) ----- NO!
hello out there?!
answer please!
Question #6:
Does Full Coverage Insurance cover engine hydrolock?
Ok, so I was down by the local river getting rocks for a landscaping project. There was a little path across a creek which I crossed with no problems. On the way back, however, I crossed in a different place which was (my mistake) a bit deeper. Water splashed over my hood and through my window dousing me with water. My vehicle (stock 2000 Nissan Xterra) kept going after this as I neared the other side of the creek. However, before I was able to fully get out of the 'deep' section (not quite to the bottom of my doors, but above my tail pipe) my car stalled. There was a bit of a current pressing my car and I could feel it slipping a little bit, but it did not by any means start floating down stream. I panicked a little bit at this point and attempted to restart my car, which was turning over but not starting. I know now that this was a mistake but at the time I was kind of freaking out. After a couple minutes of flustered effort to restart and move my vehicle, I was lucky enough to have a couple guys come to my aid with ATVs who pulled my car free of the creek. Now the Air Intake for this Xterra seemed to be a closed manifold (i dont know much about cars) but I did open it to check the filter which was wet. I did not see a puddle so I assumed that it was not at risk for pulling air into the engine at this point. I cranked the engine and it started right up! I was pretty glad. There was no noticeable noise coming from the engine and it seemed to be running fine. I drove it straight home and parked it where I dismantled the air intake to let it dry. I checked the oil which was a very health clear brown (not milky, indicative of water contamination).
I let the car sit with the windows open and air filter off for 2 days to let it 'dry' out.
After that time, I took it for a test drive which at first showed no symptoms of water damage. The oil still looked good, my coolant, brake and steering fluid were all appropriate, and the engine made no noise or anything indicated that there was a problem at all. No vibrating or clicking, nothing. About 10 miles down the road is where the real evidence of the water damage reared it's ugly head. I feel a little explosion rock my engine compartment. A huge cloud of smoke is behind me as I am going about 45mph. My engine died with no warning prior to this, I lost my power steering and brakes. I managed to pull it off the road with some effort and come to a gradual stop. There is smoke pouring out of my hood. I pop the hood because I think it's on fire, but it quickly begins to stop smoking. There is oil EVERYWHERE, all over my engine compartment all over the ground splattered on everything. My morbid curiosity gets the better of me and after checking the oil (it was good) and a few minutes I try to start it again.
It starts but sounds like hell.
I get it towed to the auto shop who discovered a hole in the side of my engine where a bent rod came flying through taking a chunk of my block with it. Now keep in mind that my intake was all dry by this point (I don't know if that means jack crap) so the rod had to have bent while it was sucking up water (my speculation) down in the creek hole. The quote is $6,200.
Well I dont have that kind of money I am in college, and I didn't even pay that much for my truck (got a smoking deal on it in 2007 for $5,500 bucks, its in great shape) and it only blue books for like $7,200 now in 2010. So yea the adjuster comes out and says it's pretty much a total loss, but that they need to "investigate" it. I've been without a vehicle for a week now and my insurance company is trying to find some way to wriggle free of paying for this (I don't blame them) because I drove it after I stalled it.
My argument is that I didn't KNOW there was water damage at the time because it started right up after I got the tail pipe out of the water, and behaved perfectly (no noise, vibration or shaking, etc BTW Im not a mechanic and I hadnt even heard of hydrolock before this) until the rod came out of the block. The water damage happened while it was in the water (my theory) and the rod bent at that time, which I was unaware of until it came out the side of my block.
So anyways, there's my perspective and their speculations. Now to the question!
Do you think I should be covered? By the way I have full coverage and have been with the (to remain nameless) insurance company for 4 years with no incidents.
Ken K, I told them pretty much exactly what I wrote here. I wasn't 'mud bogging' or anything I just went through too deep of water in a vehicle that is capable and designed to go through less water.
Buster; I know you can tell if an engine was run out of oil. Does an engine that runs out of oil still run? My vehicle still runs. With a whole in the engine. Does that sound like it ran out of oil?
The mechanic explained to me that the piston bent because of water, and that it came out the side of the block because, well they do that.
The question is whether or not an insurance should cover the cost of the damage. It is not a question of what caused the damage. They are looking at length of time it took for my car to stall, be run again, and then have the hole appear.
Question #7:
Car insurance with minor traffic violations from a different state?
Recently I just bought a car and I'm looking for great deals on car insurance in the MN area or wherever. I've applied to almost four different insurance companies to get free online quotes (ex: esurance, progressive, etc.) and they've been asking if I've had driving violations in the past three or five years. Now my question is, If I had traffic violation tickets back in WIS, do I have to list them down since I'm living in a different state? or what's up? Give me some hints or insurance companies where I could get a great deal from as well!!Question #8:
Teenage insurance and quote?
Hi everyone, I'm a teenager about to get my license soon, i've got a job so i'm planning on paying for my own insurance and buy my own car and stuff, with minimal to no help for my parents. Since I'm very new at this I'm not exactly sure what to do or what everything means, so my question is What exactly do i have to do to get insurance and what is a quote? when they say "get a free quote" or something like that what does that mean?Question #9:
How much do you think car insurance will be...?
I've been to sites with free quotes but they always give me like 4.7k dollars a year with like 300$ monthly payments but my friends say insurance for them is like 1800. I am 18 male and drive a 4 door 2001 sedan I just started driving how much do you think it will be?Question #10:
How to get a free rate quote for car and health insurance?
I'm doing a school project for economics. How to get a free rate quote for apartment, car and health insurance?Question #11:
Car Insurance Trick Question (Australia Answers only please)?
Ok....first of all, I must say this is not the right way of doing things. But just being curious of what you guys think of.I went online to get my Car insurance quote. And everything went ok, and when it comes to payment, it gives me "7 DAYS TO PAY IT". On the 7th day, if not paid, then the cover will be cancelled.
I am thinking, why dont I just wait till the 7th day. And if I dont have any accident, then I go online to get another quote and the insurance cover date STARTS from that 7th day. That way, I dont have to pay a cent and my car was covered for 7 days for FREE.
AND IF I CONTINUE TO DO THAT..............FREE COVER FOREVER.~~!!
so....will I be out-smart by the insurance company? Or it is one way of making use of this loop-hole?
Thanks for all feedbacks.
PS. Again, I am not recommending this, as this is not right and MAY be illegal too (i doubt).
Thanks Rawdy.... I must say, ur answer made me laugh my ass off.....u smartass....
Please give me some good answers ppl....
ps. To Rawdy: sorry, i wouldn't dare to do wat u were suggesting (2 cent petrol). I am afraid the manager is come out with a baseball bat chasing after me.
Answer to Alex Comment:
The 7 days is for me to Pay the bill. During that 7 day period, my car is insured. So if I crash my car on the 6th day, then I just pay the bill on 6th or 7th day, and they still pay for the damage repair.
IF I DONT CRASH MY CAR by the bill payment date. Then I just ignore that quote and dont pay it. Then get a new quote and enjoy the 7-day bill payment duedate. This can continue on and on and on.
Guys....we live in a economic crisis period. Money are hard earned. Thought this would be one way of saving some money or at least some interest while I am paying this on my Credit card.
Question #12:
Why be against free health care?
I don't get why someone would be against it. Every other developed country in the world does it and it works fine. Taxes may be higher, but one car accident costing you $200,000 in medicals bills at once seems a lot worse than paying an extra few bucks a year. We probably spend more on treatment now than what the tax increases would have to be.Also, the whole Fox News "in Canada you have to wait in line" thing is BS. Anybody that's been to a Canadian hospital would know serious injuries get treated immediately (as opposed to sitting in an American ER for 3 hours before seeing a doctor).
Finally, the Right seems to be forgetting that forcing companies to buy health insurance for their employees is one of the biggest reasons for outsourcing. If the government did that it would be a huge relief on business. The country's largest health provider is technically General Motors because of this, so our bailout is already paying for health care anyway.
So if you're against free health care, what's your reason? How would you refute each of those arguments? I'm curious.
Also, try to do so without being angry, quoting Glenn Beck, or calling Obama a communist. It just makes you look bad. I'm looking for intelligent answers.
Question #13:
Orlando holiday car hire insurance quote (seems expensive)?
I have booked a flight and accommodation package with jetsave.com for 14 days in Orlando and I am staying in a hotel on the International drive. As part of the package, they're giving me a free car for 14 days. The car comes with free 3rd party insurance, but from the forums I have read, it's advisable to get CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) insurance instead. So, Jetsave.com is quoting me £285 for 14 days (ECAR=Economy car) CWD insurance.
Is this expensive? I suppose I don't have any other choice...
Question #14:
How much to insure a Mercedes C350?
it's a 2008 Mercedes C350, so it's not very expensive or fast. i'm 16, have strait A's, and have no previous driving convictions, I got a near-perfect score on my driving test. Keep in mind that this is an extremely safe vehicle as well.I've tried looking on thre internet for some free quotes but couldn't really find anything. I'm just wanting a rough estimate, it doesn't have to be exact. I mean, will it be $150/month or $500/month? I haven't purchased the car and i was curious to see how much the insurance will be. It's not that big of a concern I was just curious more than anything.
Please don't reply unless you plan on answering my question. I don't want to hear 'you spoiled brat' or 'keep dreaming kid'. This is a serious question. Also, please don't just tell me to call the insurance company. I know to do this but at this time they are all closed and I needed an estimate as soon as possible.

Question #17:
I'm looking for free car insurance quotes?
As I'm a new driver, my parents told me to seek on the internet for insurances quotes, to help me handle my own things. So yeah i'm looking for websites that offer free car insurances quotes.Question #18:
Would it be illegal to do this?
I play an online game and am doing an offer for in-game currency that involves getting a free quote for car insurance. It wants a name, address, and all that good stuff. I do not own a car, and the address I gave it is not my own---I don't even know if anyone lives there anymore. I put my name in as Jane Doe.Is that illegal?
I have someone saying, "YOu are commiting Felony Larceny.
*By inputting false information into a digital application."
Thoughts?
Question #19:
Does Progressive have an option to cover insurance if I rent a car ('cause I didn't see it on their website)?
Hi, I'm looking to rent a car. Now, I know that the optional car insurance offered by these car rental companies like Budget and Enterprise are pretty expensive. But I am renting a car because I don't have a car (renting for short term usage) and I have never had one, which means that I never have had car insurance.I was on the Progressive website to "get a free quote/buy" but one of the many questions they ask is what car do I have and also if I'm : 1) leasing it 2) own it, but make payments (installments, rather), and 3) own it, but don't make payments. The last two options don't apply to me, although would renting a car qualify as leasing it? If so, what "kind of car" should I put in since I have no idea what the specific make of car that will be available for me to rent. Or is this something I fill out after I rent the car (but of course, rentals won't give away a car if the customer doesn't show proof of being covered by car insurance).
If you didn't notice, this is the first time I'm going about these things. One last question while I'm on this topic--I currently have health insurance through the Blue Shield Blue Cross company. I heard Progressive also provides health insurance, so would it be cheaper if I had to take health insurance as well as auto insurance from Progressive/a similar company that specializes in auto insurance but also offers health insurance?
Please help me. Thanks so much in advance!
Question #20:
Centennial Chevrolet Body Shop Uniontown, PA READ!!?
A guy wrecked into the side of my car which smashed the bumper, fender, doors, headlight, foglight, resevoirs and some other stuff. His insurance company called and gave me a list of everyone that you can choose (or what they recommend) Centennial was considered their select service. They are supposed to do outstanding work so I chose them. I dropped my car off and they said that they would have it in a week or so which I was ok with. When I went to pick it up, the door handle wasn't painted. My car is all white and all you saw was this black door handle that stood out like a sore thumb! So, I was like "uhmm... I wonder what is going on here?" I asked and the manager, Bob Roach, and he was like "Oh well, my guy forgot to paint it. You can just take it home and come back another day." I immediately said "No, I rather wait and have it fixed." I was afraid that they would end up never fixing it. The guy got mad and was like "ok. whatever." They never called to let me know that it wasnt actually done. I traveled 1hr out of my way to just turn around and go home. I wasn't really mad or anything, it was more of an inconveinence. About 2 days later, the secretary called and said that my car was done (she was very nice). I went and picked it up. The door handle that they were supposed to paint looked terrible. There was already a giant chip in it! They told us that they cut us a deal and painted everything and all of that. I was like "wow! That's awesome. thanks." I got home and wanted to really look at my car because I was so excited!. As I started looking at it, I became very disappointed. The TOUCH UP paint from a few years back was visible under the paint. They had told us that they sanded everything down so it would look great. Well, obviously not. One of the dents that we paid extra for to get taken out was shotty. It was still dented! They just slapped some paint over top of it. They didn't blend it. Some parts looked bright white and other spots were significantly dull. My fog light didn't work. They busted my windshield wiper off and just set it on the window hoping I wouldn't notice. There was paint on my headlights that they didn't even try to wipe off. I was just amazed at the problems. I didn't want to be rude so I just called the manager, Bob Roach, and asked if I could have my fog light fixed, the paint wiped off and my door handle fixed. I wasn't even going to yell about the other stuff. I called him. I was trying to be really nice and he started yelling at me. He said "No, That car was in bad shape. There were so many things wrong with it and I did all kinds of free work. I will NOT fix anything. Good ByE!!!!" I didn't even get a chance to say a word before he hung up on me. I called back and asked" What free work did you do? For the extra stuff, I asked for a quote and you told me 400. I would have paid more thats just what you asked me for?" He yelled again and said " No, here's how its going to be. I will change the light bulb that's it. That car is not my problem. It is in better condition then when it got here." I was like "what are you talking about? my door handle didnt have a gigantic chip out of it. I did not ask you to sand it down! It was painted before and it looked good!" Why did you even sand it? He goes" It was an accident. They werent supposed to sand back that far" I was like "Ok? So you just slap some paint on it and call it a day? It wasn't my mistake!" He hung up again. So this time, I did get mad. I tried being nice and he just kept hanging up on me and flipping out. I was like "Ok, look here. I'm really tired of you hanging up on me. I'm trying to be nice, but this is ridiculous. He starts yelling. So I'm like " No, buddy, I'm tired of this. You listen to me. I did not bring my car to your shop to get it in almost worse condition. I did not ask to be screamed at. I did not ask for you to sand my door handle on the OPPOSITE side of the accident!!!!!!! So, I suggest you stop yelling at me and talk this out like adults." We just had more of a conversation and it ended with. I'm not doing anything about it. It's your problem now. So, I am telling everyone what happened to me so it doesn't happen to anyone else! Please don't go here. The guy is ridiculously rude and they don't care about any of the work they do. The receipt even says that if you are not satisfied, they will gladly repair it. Wow is that a lie!** Powered by Yahoo Answers
